Over 100 years ago, the original founders of Foland and Higbee, Mr. Russell Foland and Mr. John Higbee, began to invest in real estate in Jacksonville, Florida and the surrounding areas. As their real estate holdings increased, they were compelled to form a management company to maintain their properties. Painters, carpenters, roofers, plumbers, and electricians were hired by Foland and Higbee to maintain their customer's property.As others witnessed the ease of owning investment real estate with Foland and Higbee managing their property, they began to invest in real estate as well.

Today, the firm is owned and operated by the great-grandson of the original founder and a direct descendant of Florida's very first visitor, Juan Ponce de Leon, Jay Higbee. The children and grandchildren of some of the original repair crews are still employed by Foland and Higbee, Inc.

Mr. Higbee is aided in the daily office operations by his wife, Dianne Higbee; his mother, Kitty Webb Reynard; and his cousin, Patricia C. Lacey. They continue to abide by Russell Foland and John Higbee's creed: provide excellent service to both owners and renters at a fair price.
